Qiong Wu is a freelance artist, practice in painting, illustration, installation, ceramic, printing, etc.
After Qiong’s 2-year-study in China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, she decided study and live in the UK. 2012, she graduated from BA(Hons) Illustration at University for the Creative Art. 2015, she graduated from MA Communication – Illustration with Distinction from Camberwell college of art, UAL. 2016, she finished her one year intensive postgraduate course from Royal drawing school. And begin to be a freelance artist since then.
Qiong brings her sketchbook everywhere, she can not live without it. This is her way of gathering inspiration from life. Her intrestest is alway about city, menkind and nature. She inspired by city tales and poem. Her work always has a sense of movement, while talking about the relationship between men and their living nature. She is now based in her studio in London. Thanks to internet, she can work on commissions from anywhere in this world.
Qiong herself has always been a paradox, and so does her works. A major part of her works inspired by huge contrast within rhymes and history of cities. She loves to use space, colour and different materials to form her art pieces. She would love her work could make people rethink of the relationship between human, their living space with nature and other living creatures. She loves travel, and enjoys working with art residency and understand each place with her own work.
2007年考上中国美术学院环境艺术系，之后她学习生活在英国。2012年获英国创意艺术大学插画专业BA学位，2014年获得了伦敦艺术大学Camberwell College of Arts，Illustration MA一等荣誉学位，2016年获得皇家绘画学院荣誉学位，并且作品被英国威尔士亲王-查尔斯王子收藏。
