Angela Ramos was born in Hong Kong, in 1983, but she is originally from Macao. She is from a Macanese family that loves the creative arts; from going to musical theatres, to exhibitions, concerts, to working on drawings and paintings. At an early age, in Macao, she cultivated a great interest for the Arts, where she started her studies. From there she did her university studies in the United Kingdom and graduated with a Master’s in Graphic Design and Communication from the University of the Creative Arts.
When she starts any project, whether working with typography, branding, corporate identity or digital media, she usually starts with initial sketches where she explores various ideas and lets her creativity run wild. This is where both her inspiration and fun begin. She enjoys exploring new ideas by using mixed media, acrylic paints, watercolour pencils, markers, or going directly to digital illustration. She is currently experimenting with watercolours, which allows her to have more freedom due to the colours colliding in an uncontrollable abstract and creating a mess of brushstrokes that run on the paper, this makes her feel liberating. Her drawings often reflect her emotional experiences and personal memories of people and situations that she has encountered from all walks of life.
